Isn’t a Wedding Venue Coordinator enough?
This last weekend at a local bridal expo, I got the chance to chat with a couple of friends I hadn’t seen in a while (who also happen to be AMAZING wedding photographers). They were sharing the story of an extremely chaotic wedding they had shot recently that (like many weddings in the area) did not have a “day of” coordinator… and I couldn’t believe some of the things that were missed. Thankfully my wonderful friend stepped in and went above and beyond to avoid adding stress for the couple. But in turn, she felt she hadn’t done the best she could at what she had actually been hired to do… capture their day. As a wedding planner and coordinator, this made me cringe. Because the fact of the matter is that many people don’t realize just how much an actual wedding coordinator does until they DON’T have one on their wedding day.
Ironically, pinterest must have known this was fresh in my mind because in my suggested pins today I happened upon this little nugget of wisdom from a coordinator in California. If you or someone you know are getting married soon, it is a MUST READ :)
